A Voice Finding Its Stage
Every performing artist has a moment when training meets the world — when years of sadhana step out of the practice room and into the concert hall. For Ram Srivatsan, that journey is well and truly under way.
Though Ram is in the early years of his performing career, the stages he has graced and the occasions on which he has been invited to perform already speak to the depth of recognition his music has earned — from temple trusts, spiritual institutions, cultural organisations, and none other than the great Vidwan Srimushnam V. Raja Rao himself, at whose side Ram has performed and continues to perform.

First Major Public Concert — January 2026 ⭐
On 18th January 2026, Ram gave his first major Carnatic vocal concert — a milestone evening that announced his arrival on the concert platform with unmistakable clarity. What made this occasion particularly extraordinary was the company he kept: Ram was accompanied on the mridangam by Vidwan Srimushnam V. Raja Rao — his own guru and one of the most celebrated percussionists of our time — on the violin by Vidwan Nagai Muralidharan, one of Carnatic music's most distinguished and versatile accompanists, and on the kanjira by Vidwan Sriram Ramesh, a percussionist of the first order. For a young artist's debut major concert to feature accompanists of this calibre is extraordinary — and speaks volumes about the regard in which Ram is held by his mentors.

Margazhi Mahotsavam — Chennai
One of Ram's earliest public performances was as a young artist of around sixteen at the prestigious Margazhi Mahotsavam — the celebrated December music festival that is the very heartbeat of Chennai's Carnatic season and the most keenly watched platform for emerging talent in the classical world. To perform during Margazhi at that age is itself a mark of promise recognised by those who matter in this world.

Chaturmasya Gurupriya Sangeeta Upasana — Orikkai, Kancheepuram (2022 & 2025)
Ram has been invited twice — in 2022 and again in 2025 — to perform at the Chaturmasya Gurupriya Sangeeta Upasana held at Orikkai, Kancheepuram — a deeply sacred event conducted in the spiritual atmosphere of the Chaturmasya observance. To be invited once to such an occasion is an honour; to be recalled for a second time is a mark of trust and musical standing.
Ramanavami Celebrations — Rama Anjaneya Temple, Tambaram (March 2026)
Ram was invited to perform a vocal concert on the auspicious occasion of Sri Ramanavami at the Rama Anjaneya Temple, Tambaram — a devotional setting that called for music of both technical refinement and spiritual depth.
Purandaradasa Jayanthi — alongside Vidwan Srimushnam V. Raja Rao (March 2026)
In a performance of special significance, Ram performed on the occasion of Purandaradasa Jayanthi — the celebration of the father of Carnatic music — alongside his own mentor, the legendary Vidwan Srimushnam V. Raja Rao. To share the stage with one's own guru on such an occasion is a rare privilege and a moment of deep personal meaning.

Accompaniment
Beyond his solo performances, Ram is a regular presence on stage as a vocal accompanist to Vidwan Srimushnam V. Raja Rao — one of the foremost mridangists of our time. Accompanying a musician of Raja Rao's stature at his concerts is both a privilege and, in itself, a form of advanced musical education that very few young artists are ever granted.
Ram welcomes invitations to perform at sabhas, temple festivals, cultural events, and spiritual occasions. Please visit the Contact page to get in touch.
